After last year's circus debacle I vowed never to return again. (My husband almost got into a fight with a protester, but that's a story for another day.) I loved watching the acrobats and the daredevils, but the questionable ethics were unfortunately, well...questionable.
Circus Oz is quite a bit different from the Circus that I'm used to.
"The Circus Oz show is a rock-n-roll, animal free circus that adults and children can enjoy together. Expect two hours of breathtaking agility, death-defying stunts, awe-inspiring acrobatic performances, irreverent comedy and a spectacular live band."
It's like they took all of my favorite things about going to the circus and left out the things I didn't like.
Circus Oz is returning to UCLA after nearly 30 years, and will be doing five shows between February 7th and 10th. Three shows at 8:00pm, February 7th through 9th, and two matinee shows at 2:00pm on February 9th and 10th. The Saturday matinee also includes a post-show meet-and-greet/autograph signing session with the artists. Tickets are $15-$65 and are available now via cap.ucla.edu, Ticketmaster, or at the UCLA Central Ticket Office.
It just so happens to be Mason's 7th birthday weekend so it will be an extra special event for us to attend. Not to mention that my husband is a UCLA alumni so he is a little excited to return to campus.
Disclaimer: I received free tickets to this performance in exchange for posting information about the show. All opinions are my own and are not influenced in any way.

i'm bummed I missed it! I am a huge fan of cirque du soleil, and now that they've left LA, there's definitely room for another circus here!
