Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. At Pretend City!

This Monday, January 21st, Pretend City is celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. and his message of friendship and love in a fun and exciting way. Children can explore the big ideas and images surrounding Dr. King’s legacy with two different activities.

A.M. Activity: Let’s Join Hands – Martin Luther King Jr. joined hands with people of all colors on his march to freedom. Create a wreath of hands to celebrate the similarities and differences of various cultures.

P.M. Activity: Cake of Dreams – Children will write or draw pictures of their dreams on clouds, adding to the d├ęcor of Dr. King’s Dream Birthday Cake. This cake will be displayed throughout the week to share the overflowing dreams of peace and tolerance with children.

Pretend City is located at 29 Hubble in Irvine, California. Admission is $12.50 for everyone over the age of 12 months.

We love Pretend City and can't wait to join in on the festivities!

Disclaimer: I am frequently given free admission to Pretend City in exchange for posting about their events and activities. All opinions are my own and are not influenced in any way.

Hey there, Angela! How'd the MLK celebration go? Were you able to make it out there?

Also just wanted to say "Thanks for being a part of the Social Fabric community!" Glad to have you on board!
