Mamavation Monday 8/1/2011



Down 1.6 pounds!

So the past few weeks have felt like a roller coaster. What I really need in my life is some consistency. My weight has been fluctuating by a pound or so in either direction, and frankly it's frustrating. On the other hand, I know I only have myself to blame, and if I want to see results I need to put aside the time to take care of myself.

I joined a gym with two of my friends a little over a week ago. We have been trying to go whenever at least two of us can fit it in. It's definitely a good idea to have more than one person to work out with, because if someone can't make it one day, there is still someone else who might be able to. And of course I could go by myself, but sometimes I'd just rather work out at home if I'm going to do it alone.

I also bought Zumba for wii, but haven't set that up yet. I need to, though. I also need to go grocery shopping big time. Time to fill up on healthy foods again!

Life has just been crazy busy lately, and with a promotion looking at me I can't imagine it will calm down any time soon. All I can do is set myself up to succeed as best as I can.

What are the next big goals you want to tackle?

I have quite a few goals I would like to knock out before the end of this year. Here are the three biggest.

-Go down two more dress sizes. I am currently hovering in and around a size 12, but I could die happy if I saw the number 8 on my pants or dress. I know this is a bit superficial, but I've never been a size 8. Never. And I know I can do it.

-Hike Saddleback Mountain. Saddleback Mountain is a mountain not far from my house. It's not an easy hike at all. It's 16 miles roundtrip with an elevation gain of about 4,000 feet. This is an all day commitment, and I'm thinking it will be another 4 months or so before I attempt it.

-Arm definition. I'm tired of my flabby arms! Before the end of the year I'd like to see some significant definition in my arms. I've definitely already made some progress, but there's still a ways to go.

Oh, you have to tell me what you think of the Zumba Wii game... I keep thinking of getting it, but haven't heard anyone talk about it. I don't have a class nearby, so maybe try the game?

I hear ya on the fluctuation. I am finally down a bit this week, but need to put more time into fitness. I know you can do it!

Yay for the 1.6 down! I love arm definition too, and I want some again. After BlogHer and my bro's wedding a few days after that, I'm gonna have to rock hard on this kind of thing too. See you in a couple days! Yay!

Yay for losing more weight! Those are some pretty awesome goals...I'm sure you'll do every single one of them :)
