How I Plan on Sharing Happiness

Today is the perfect day for a post about happiness. It's cold and rainy and gloomy outside, and I know lots of people who could use a little sunshine! I have two little boys who get cabin fever easily, so I certainly have to be creative. Here are a few of the little ways I like to share happiness with those around me.

Dancing. Nothing gets us giggling harder than a dance party. It sounds so corny, but it works wonders. When they're bored or even fighting over toys I know it's time for a little distraction. They pick a favorite song, I turn the music way up and we boogie. I love seeing their faces light up and how crazy they get with their moves.

Be a good friend. When I'm having a bad day, sometimes a special little treat is just the thing I need to perk up. Knowing this I like to share that with other people. When one of my friends needs a pick-me-up, I invite her out for a little frozen yogurt and a chat. It's a great way to let a friend vent, and also know that someone is there for her. I know that makes her happy.

Say it with a smile. I'm out and about all of the time running errands. I come across many people who are going about their business as well. Some people are friendly, and others aren't. But when I interact with any of them, I am always cheerful and smiling, no matter how I'm feeling. They say smiling is contagious, and I really believe it's true. I try to "infect" as many people as I can. :)

Remember the little things. This one might sound silly, but I like to remember little details in people's lives. Obviously birthdays and anniversaries, but also little achievements they may have accomplished. Why? Because when you bring something like that up later down the road it really makes someone feel good!

Treats! Once in a while I like to do a little something special for my husband and my boys. Whether it be picking my oldest up from school with a slush from Sonic for him, or going out for ice cream cones after dinner. Or even a surprise visit to the playground while we're out running errands. Little things that they don't get to have or do everyday really make them happy.

I pride myself on being a good friend, a good wife and a good mom. My friends and family are important to me and I just want them all to be happy.

I wrote this blog post while participating in the SocialMoms and Hershey's blogging program, for a gift card worth $25 and some product. For more information on how you can participate, click here.

Love the suggestions! I am all about having dance parties with my girls, definitely a great way to get the giggles generating.
