It has been such a busy week! Last week I found out that I will be one of two moms participating in the Los Angeles Mamavation campaign. I am so incredibly excited to be working so closely with Leah and to be able to document my journey. Not only will I be able to inspire and motivate other moms, but I will also have something to hold onto and look back on to hopefully motivate myself further down the road.
I struggled this week due to the stress of planning a two year old's birthday party. Let me just throw this out there. I'm a horrible planner. I'm the queen of doing things at the very last minute. Between 5pm on Friday and 4pm on Saturday I managed to throw an entire party together. I don't think Party City was pleased with my last minute balloon order Saturday afternoon, but they came through for me!
I am also up in weight this week. I don't think it's from the party, because I was too busy running around like a decapitated chicken to shove all the food in my face. Instead, I'm blaming it on my monthly visitor. Because seriously, if you can't blame things on your period, then what good is it for?
I talked to my boss at work tonight and told her about what I would be doing next week, and I wanted to let her know that I would be less available for while. (It's off season right now so not a big deal.) She was so excited that she told me she was going to lose 2.5 pounds a week with me for 6 weeks (She's already in pretty good shape!) and she wants me to come in to the store every week and share my loss! (I only live right down the street, thankfully.) How cool is that? It's really great to have a supportive boss.
Tomorrow is going to be a big day! It's Martin Luther King Day, which is totally awesome. Hubby and Mason have the day off work and school and we're heading up to Los Angeles in the morning. Our plan is to spend the morning in Griffith Park, and then in the afternoon I'm heading up even further to have a meeting with Leah! Woo hoo! After that it's straight home for the Twitter party to find out who my other two Mamavation partners in crime are going to be! And after that I get to chat with the wonderful Alysa (@inspiredRD) about my nutrition plan.
I'm full of nervousness and excitedness and tiredness and all kinds of other things. Thank you thank you thank you to everyone for all of your continued support! I could not have gotten this far without you and I definitely will not be able to survive this campaign without you all as well. Good luck to all of the finalists!
Finalists: remember tomorrow night that whether you win or lose, you have already made a huge commitment to yourself and have taken a big step in the right direction. You can and will succeed as a Mamavation Mom or not. I will be here to support you guys and cheer you on and I am going to be making myself as available as possible for questions, concerns, or if you just want to vent. I wish you all the best of luck and I will see you tomorrow at the Twitter party!
