My kids love music, and I'm always looking for new CDs to play for them in my car. Like most children, Mason will get hooked on a song or artist and ask to listen to it over and over. So it's important to me that whatever we listen to isn't going to drive me crazy after hearing it for the umpteenth time.



Rock Rhythm and Rhyme: Color Songs is a fun (and secretly educational) CD geared towards preschoolers. It was written and performed by Mike, Vicki, and their three children. What a talented family!

Each song on the CD is about a different color. Every song teaches your kids how to spell each color, and how to identify it. "It's the color of a stoplight, it's the color of a rose." I'm sure you can guess which song that is from. The music is funky and catchy, and as soon as I turned on the first song, Jackson (my one year old) started dancing!

I think this would be a great tool for schooling as well. If you are working on a certain color with your child, put the corresponding song on and start by learning the words! You can pick some of the items in the song and have your child point to them when they are mentioned. Use your creativity!
