Apple Cheeks Diapers - Review and Giveaway!

*THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED*

Right before I started potty training Mason, who is now almost 4 years old, I decided that I wanted to try cloth diapering. Just a few months pregnant with Jackson, I thought I would get into the habit, so I could be ready for him.

My meager stash started with a few all-in-one diapers that a member of Freecycle gave to me. I tried my best to take good care of them. But they were old, and didn't work well. Air-drying them made the inside kind of hard, and I'm sure they weren't very comfortable.

Luckily, I've come a long way since then.

I recently got the opportunity to try out an envelope cover with a hemp insert, a bamboo insert and a hemp booster from a Canadian company called Apple Cheeks. The philosophy behind Apple Cheeks is simple.

Throw away your preconceived notions. Ignore your skeptical peers. These are NOT your grandmother’s cloth diapers.

To someone who has never used cloth diapers before, all the snaps and inserts may be rather confusing. Apple Cheeks has a great customer support system which includes an illustrated instruction page, customer service contacts, FAQs, and even video tutorials. There are only two sizes, so you're not having to buy more diapers as soon as your little one hits a growth spurt.

Because I only have a few really reliable overnight diapers, I decided to jump right in and put it to the test. I used just the hemp insert, with no booster. To my delight there was no leakage at all! The diaper is so soft and stretchy, I can only imagine how comfy it must be. So far we have not had a single leak or blowout while using Apple Cheeks. I must say I am very impressed!

Buy it!
Check out the Retailers Page to find out where you can buy Apple Cheeks diapers!

Win it!
Apple Cheeks is offering one of my lucky readers an envelope cover, hemp and bamboo inserts, and hemp booster!

How to enter:
Visit Apple Cheeks and take a look around the site. Find the page that says "Why Choose Cloth Diapers?" then come back here and comment with one of the reasons.

Want extra entries? (Leave a separate comment for each one!)
-Be a fan on Facebook!
-Follow me on Twitter AND tweet this giveaway. Comment with a link to your tweet.
-Be a follower or subscriber to my blog.
-Grab my button and tell me where it is.
-Favorite me on Technorati (click the little button on my sidebar)
-Make a blog post linking to this giveaway and leave a comment with the link to it.

Giveaway ends January 26th, 2010 @9PM PST. US and Canada entries only. Winner will be picked via Random.org and announced the following day. Please respond within 48 hours, or a new winner will be chosen. Good luck!

Disclaimer: I received a free diaper from Apple Cheeks for review purposes. I did not receive any form of compensation. All opinions are my own and not influenced in any way.

"You’re helping to reduce the amount of waste that sits in a landfill."

I disposables my son, because we lived in an apartment with coin-op, that when the machines worked cost $2 per load (usually $5 though cause they never worked) and it wasn't worth it then. But we are cloth diapering my daughter and when I learned how long it takes for them to decompose in the landfills I wish I would have found a way to cloth my son
