How to NOT lose weight

Alternatively titled, Pantry S'mores.

Yesterday I "officially" started dieting. That means, after dinner I "officially" started looking for something to cheat on my diet with. Since yesterday marked the first day of summer for me, I was feeling some S'mores. I am on a grocery store hiatus right now, using up what we have before buying more so running to the store was not an option. I scoured the pantry.

Graham Crackers?

Check.

Marshmallows?

Um, well, Mini-Marshmallows are still Marshmallows, so check.

Chocolate?

Sorry Mister Chocolate Bunny from Easter. We didn't eat you yet, so I'm putting you to good use! Check.

Put graham crackers in the toaster oven. (Don't microwave or you get chewy marshmallows!) Take the chocolate side out first and spread the chocolate with a knife so it's nice and even. When the marshmallows are puffed up and starting to get browned, take them out too and squish both sides together.

Yum!!

I think I might prefer these to traditional campfire S'mores. There is more even marshmallow and chocolate distribution, and the graham crackers get a little toasty as well. But I bet these would be really fun to make with the kids on a rainy day!

Great idea! I never would think to make these at home, and it's a great idea to put in my rainy day box.....when I finally get around to making it! Thanks for sharing!

What a great idea! I love it. I can't do it of course, because I am dieting away, but I'm gonna try that one for the kids.

If you had to pick a cheat item a smores is totally worth it, my problem is i wouldn't eat just one.

My daughter loves smores. We make them when we go camping, but the chocolate never melts enough. Your way looks great! Thanks for sharing.

Angela, you are right, that is not the way to loose weight but I am so impressed that you have Easter candy still in the house.

I have never made smores at home. I've been craving sugar like crazy the last few days. Awesome that you had a chocolate bunny hanging around.

I don't have a toaster oven, but I do have a gas range, so those marshmallows get nice and toasty. If I don't properly hide the chocolate, technically it's just a "smo". (My son is a food thief. lol!)

Looks like a great lunch idea for tomorrow - thanks!

I've tried to make microwave S'mores, but the chocolate melts before the marshmallow puffs up, makes a big mess. I wish I had a toaster oven now!

And I think your Mom is right, Hershey bars don't seem to melt as easily as they used to.

Cool idea, at least you are using the left overs.

The picture looked very tempting, even I feel like going through my groceries to see what I can make.
